Savings by Design for Residential Builders

Objectives and Description:

Residential home builders can receive free access to green building experts and incentives to develop and build sustainable homes. This Program offers residential builders expert guidance worth up to $25,000 and energy-saving rewards of up to $100,000 to design and build homes that achieve 25 percent better energy performance than the 2012 Ontario Building Code.

Is your project eligible?

This program is only open to builders who are planning to build 50 or more housing units within the next three years. Projects must meet the following criteria:

• Must include 50 or more low-rise housing units (i.e. units that fall under Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code):
  • Single-family homes.
  • Row houses.
  • Townhomes/stacked towns.
  • Multi-family buildings three storeys and under.
• Located in the former Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. service area.

Please note that individual homebuyers are not eligible to participate in the Savings by Design Residential program. Existing homeowners wishing to access free upgrades and rebates may do so through Enbridge Gas’ rebates and energy Conservation program for residential gas customers.
